Making small spaces efficient and pleasant
So, what to do with that small kitchen? Small rooms do not have to be “too small”. They can be re-designed so that a more accurate description would be an “efficient kitchen”. After all, it is more efficient to only have to walk a few feet rather than navigate a large room.
Think how time efficient it is to shop in an old-fashioned store where they manage to have everything the big box stores have, but in a much smaller space. You do not have to hike all the way to the southeast corner of the store looking for an item, only to find out it is actually in the northwest corner, about a quarter of a mile away.
Another parallel is a boat. Many people live on boats and the vast majority of them are way under the average size square footage of a typical American home. Boats are well-known for their efficient use of every square inch.
