Are you happy with your basement?
This photo displays a basement remodel by a Seattle firm, Ventana Construction. Their description of the project:
“We’ve built our share of basements and this is one of our favorites. A West Seattle spec home had a completely unfinished basement/garage area. We walled off the space, installed new windows to match the configuration of ones upstairs, built-in a desk and finished out the walls with bead board wainscoting. It was supposed to be a playroom for the kids, but we think Dad may get a little use out of it too.”
With winter basically here now (although the calendar says it’s only Fall), the days get shorter and nights are longer. Indoor living becomes more practical; make use of all the rooms in your home, including the basement!
Basements can be made into playrooms for the kids, sports dens for the guys (or the gals), office space, crafts room, workout room, or a mother-in-law apartment. There are endless ideas that can be incorporated into a basement remodel.
