Home Remodeling trends for 2015
Like Carnac the Magnificent of Old, we here present you with knowledge of the future you could not know on your own.
Home Remodeling trends expected for 2015, taken from many sources in the Remodeling industry:
Kitchens:
- Custom built, sleek, modern style cabinets are popular.
- Granite is still the favorite for countertops, but Caesarstone, a dense quartz material is gaining in popularity.
- Backsplashes are being selected that are of a natural material to blend with quartz or granite countertops.
- The most popular sinks are large single bowl styles in stainless or quartz.
Bathrooms:
Bigger is better! Clients whose homes can accommodate them are having walls moved to create a larger spa-like bath. Some have additions built to achieve the same end. Many are removing tubs and having tiled showers installed.
Flooring:
Pre-finished wood flooring is a popular trend as it offers a durable finish, easy installation (less labor cost) and comes in a variety of colors, designs and textures.
Universal Design:
This trend involves customizing homes to make them more accessible to everyone. Wider doorways, ramps to entries rather than stairs, grab bars, and a many other modifications that homeowners can select which make the home more user-friendly and safer for everyone.
Greener homes:
Paints, carpets, flooring finishes that are free of toxins and installation of more energy efficient appliances. Weather sealing homes; much can be done to make a home “greener”.
