Kitchen cabinet perfection
Who hasn’t been seriously annoyed by their kitchen cabinets? We use them constantly, even when not cooking; condiments, coffee, peanut butter and jelly, napkins; everything is in those pesky cabinets, so you want the best!
Choose a cabinet door style that you will love for years to come. Shaker style has proven its popularity, year after year. It has simple, clean lines and fits with any style kitchen. However, you must
choose what works for you, so do plenty of research.
Selecting color; do you like painted cabinets or a natural wood look? Even if you choose the grained look of wood, there are many variations in wood colors, from a dark brown cherry to very light maple.
Solid woods will last longer and look better over time, so it is a wise choice. Wood cabinets come in pecan, walnut, birch, hickory, cherry, alder, oak and maple. Check them out online and then go see the real thing at a display store when you have narrowed down your selection to just a few.
Quiet close hardware is a nice touch, especially if you have children. No slamming with this hardware installed.
If you have specialty items that just do not fit in standard cabinets, be sure to have your cabinet designer create a few drawers for them, it will make your life much easier!
