Bathrooms suffer from a lot of exposure to moisture, and so require repair or updating more frequently than most parts of the house. When it is time for you to start planning your next bathroom upgrade, what comes to mind?
The trend is to get rid of the tub and go with a large shower. Without a tub, the extra space can be used to enlarge the shower for a spa-like retreat or to include a wider door.
What about safety features? These are not just for the elderly or a mobility impaired person. Besides, what feels perfectly safe right now may be hazardous for a family member who has to deal with a leg cast, for instance! Things happen!
Why not add a few elements to your plans that upgrade your safety quotient? Grab bars come in all colors and configurations and will not reduce the stylish appearance of your shower.
A low threshold shower, or no threshold, are great for everyone; add a built-in bench and a shower wand so a person can sit while showering or shaving legs. Bathtubs are difficult, if not impossible to negotiate with any kind of impairment, but if you have more than one bathroom in your home, keeping the tub in one bath would be useful.
