What about those kitchen islands?
Homeowners still like kitchen islands, and for good reasons. You just can’t have too much counter space, and in many kitchens, countertop area is at a premium. Having a kitchen island built will definitely add more space for food prep and even for cleaning up.
Another advantage of the island is most have one side built for seating, so family members can sit and socialize while food is being prepared. It also makes a nice space for kids to do homework, with one or more parent right there to help with any questions.
The under-counter space makes for additional cabinets and shelves. A few of our clients requested pull out shelving built for garbage and recycle bins.
