What’s up with backsplashes? Why do we have them? Why do some only go up 4 inches and others basically cover the whole wall, the area not covered by the upper cabinets, that is.
Kitchen backsplashes are not just for appearance, although they can add a lot to the style and beauty of the kitchen; on their basic level they protect the wall from water and cooking splatters, and if selected well, make it easier to clean than a painted wall would be.
