Outdoor rooms are just what the name implies; built spaces created outdoors for relaxing, cooking, or entertaining. Like all rooms, they will have a sense of enclosure, whether that’s by walls, potted plants, or screens, and they often have a roof or sun cover for protection from weather.

It’s a space that is not quite indoors, and not quite outdoors. It’s a transitional space, usually created on a deck or patio that allows you to enjoy the comforts of home and outdoors at the same time.

To get the look and feel you want, think about the weather where you live, and what would make the outdoor space inviting for as much of the year as you want. Roof, screens for privacy, furniture, heating elements, cooking facilities? It’s all about the budget and how you want your outdoor space to be.
