Are you unhappy with your home?
There are many things that you can do to make you love that house. I’ll get to those, but first, here are some of the reasons people gave for not liking their home:
- Needs redecorating (some of us know what we don’t like, but have a hard time defining what we DO like, so help may be required)
- It’s too small
- The yard is too small
- Not enough parking
- It’s too old
- It’s dated
We won’t go into neighbor-type issues, as those are things outside the house, but here are some things to get you started on your journey to home-happiness.
- Make a list of all the minor annoyances in your home; this will hand over to your contractor to do.
- Purchase some new throw pillows to brighten up your living room. Bright colors, old-fashioned tapestry styles, whatever cheers you up.
- Create conversation spaces; for one thing, maybe don’t have all the furniture facing the TV. Rearrange furniture to give the space a new feel.
Now, call your contractor and have him or her come over and make those changes you can’t; fresh paint, new kitchen countertop, a brand new shower to replace a cracked old tub! New light fixtures can make a huge difference, as well.
