How to design a small kitchen
If space is at a premium, and building out is not an option, then here are some ideas for remodeling a small kitchen;
Some might choose open shelves, while others could prefer cabinets with glass fronts, to keep the items free from dust and other potential kitchen grime. (Another thought; be sure the kitchen exhaust fan is sized to remove cooking odors for the kind of food prep that you do).
Light colors will make the space feel larger, and sometimes how a space feels is almost as important as the actual square footage. So good lighting, removing a wall to open the space up to the rest of the house, and windows to provide plenty of natural light, are all good options.
Lower cabinets can be designed with built-in shelves, as these make accessing contents far easier. Selecting smaller appliances are wise choices, as trying to fit a huge refrigerator in a tiny kitchen is not a good plan.
