How to make your kitchen work for you

First thing, we all much prefer an organized kitchen, where it is easy to locate every item used in food preparation. So it goes without saying, maximize storage. But it needs to suit the way you use your kitchen. This is one of the reasons we get so many kitchen remodel requests; the previous owner or developer, probably did not use the kitchen the same way you do.

The ability to put things out of sight, and still access them without undue effort means you want pull out shelves designed to hold heavy items, like mixers. Also appliance “garages” are great for putting coffee makers, toasters, and other small, frequently used items out of sight, and yet easily accessible.

And that garbage and recycle bins! Not something we want to see, but must keep easily accessible, with tight fitting lids to keep any smells contained.
