How to update and refresh your bathroom
Have the walls painted a new color; this will make a big difference in the feel of the room. Change the color! Try something new.
Upgrade that bath fan. If your bathroom smells funny, it is in need of a new exhaust fan. There is a reason building codes require exhaust fans in any room with significant water issues. Fans get old and don’t move as much of the moisture laden air to the outside as they did when new. New fans can be found with very quiet motors, so you won’t be tempted to not use it, even at night. Get one with an automatic timer so it shuts itself off within a certain time limit.
Replace or paint the cabinets. Just like in the kitchen, cabinets can either be replaced or can be refreshed with new paint and hardware. Perhaps some shelving can be installed inside the cabinet.
Update the light fixtures, keep the hardware with same style and finish as the shower hardware, towel bars, toilet paper, holder, you get the drift!
Don’t forget some grab bars if you don’t have them already. Everyone can use a little stable support now and then. Select a reliable contractor to do the work for you; be sure to do your research to get a licensed, insured and qualified contractor.
