Kitchen islands and peninsulas are popular options
What’s not to like in extra storage and working space? If you have a few square feet that currently only increase the number of steps from your countertop to the stove or fridge, then maybe it’s time to see if an island can be built in there.
Undercounter microwave, cookbook shelves and an informal eating spot can all be part of a kitchen island. How about extra electrical outlets to charge all those gadgets we use these days?
If you already have one, we can improve it’s usefulness and efficiency by modifying the shape, drawers and shelves in it. How about adding a small prep sink to the island? Move the stove top burners to the island? Anything is possible!
