Safety in the shower

Vertical, sliding shower wand bars are not designed as grab bars – for a sliding bar that you can trust to keep you from falling, you need an actual vertically mounted grab bar. They are a sturdier metal, and are attached to sturdy supports that are installed behind the wall.

So when you are updating that bathroom, be sure you get real grab bars and have them installed properly. You don’t want the last thing you see before whacking your head on the tile floor to be the grab bar tearing off the wall.
