What to do about kitchen cabinets?

Kitchen cabinets are a large part of the kitchen; both visually, and as storage. Sooner or later, they need updating. Here are some ways to upgrade your cabinets:

It seem like a small thing, but replacing cabinet hardware will make a pleasing improvement. Some cabinet hardware is not ergonomic, and banging knuckles or difficulty grasping a handle is irritating. Replace the hinges at the same time, for that cohesive look.

Have the cabinets refinished; new colors will make your kitchen feel brand new!

Have some of the doors replaced with glass-front doors. It will make the kitchen feel more open, and you don’t have to dust the contents, as you would with open shelves.

But if you like the look of shelves, and enjoy seeing the dishes, cookbooks and other accessories, then go ahead and have a few cabinets replaced with open shelves. You can even put plants on shelves!
