When is it time to replace flooring?
The signs that it is time to replace the flooring are:
- Wear and tear – Deep scratches and cracks need attention. If there are stains that just don’t come out – then it is time to look into replacing the flooring.
- Water damage can leave lasting flooring damage. Buldging, dark stains, and mold are some signs water leakage has caused permanant floor damage. The floor could feel spongy in spots.
- Hardwood floors could have been sanded too many times, and the wood then becomes thin. The thin wood can crack.
- Vinyl flooring, hardwood and other types of flooring can become discolored; if you can’t get rid of the discoloring, it’s probably time to change out the flooring. This is specially true for carpeting. If cleaning doesn’t make it look clean, then it is definitely time to replace.
Don’t put up with old worn-out flooring, it can cause allergies, unpleasant smells, and a style that clashes with your preferences can just be a downer to come home to. Upgrade to something that is healthier, and makes you smile when coming home.
