When to update/ remodel the bathroom
If you’ve been struggling with a poor layout or limited storage, a bathroom remodel can be a lifesaver. For anyone with limited mobility or who is planning to age in place, changing the layout of the bathroom can make it much safer and work for changing needs.
Problems with plumbing, loose tiles, and damaged bathroom appliances are issues that if left unaddressed can eventually develop into water damage and mold growth.
A bathroom that seems too smelly, even when not in use, means you need a new exhaust fan, and maybe more. It could be the result of hidden issues like mildew behind tile and a leaky toilet.
But then, sometimes you just can’t stand the color or style of a bathroom in the home you purchased. There is no need to suffer, have it redone; check with your contractor to find the best way to do that. Remember that if you are ok with the plumbing fixtures where they are, it will cost way less than moving the piping.
