Why install skylights?
Operable skylight windows can open to let in the fresh air. This helps with cross ventilation in stuffy rooms, freshens up the air and cools down your living spaces without turning on an air conditioner.
Skylights can add value to your home in a way that can’t be measured monetarily; by improving the overall look and appeal of an otherwise dark and gloomy space with natural light.
A window in your roof can allow more heat into your home during the summer months. A way to deal with this is to have a blind or shutter installed with the skylight. You might have the skylight installed on a north facing side of the roof.
Another solution is to have a sun tunnel installed, instead of a full size skylight window. It’s amazing how much light a sun tunnel provides. We love to upgrade clients homes to make the house the pleasant, enjoyable home everyone deserves.
